Sunday School Department
The popular TV program “Are you smarter than a fifth grader” entertains and amuses us as we laugh with the audience when a contestant who has failed to answer “fifth grade” questions is required to face up to his shortcomings by saying those ever humbling words “I am not smarter than a fifth grade.” Being honest with ourselves, we miss the questions more often than the contestants. We just assume that we are smarter than fifth graders.
How about our Christian educations, how smart are we? In today’s world there seems to be very little attention focused on the Bible and its teachings. We complain about the conditions of the world and the coldness of people as they live for the mighty “Myself”. Where are the love, compassion, forgiveness and reconciliation, fellowship and service that once were a major part of every Christian’s life?
Christian education (sometimes called Sunday school) at Community Baptist Church is where we become energized and challenged in the very virtues of the Christian faith and learning. With qualified staff and ongoing comittement to the goal of teaching those who will admit their need to continue their Christian education, we offer the opportunity to study and learn in a people friendly environment each Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
Come join us as we study to show ourselves “Approved unto God, workman, rightly dividing (learning and teaching) the word of truth. Are we smarter than……? Come join us as we learn together.
